Accepted Forms of Payment
Unless an account has special instructions, the City accepts the following forms of payment:
- Cash: Do not mail cash or put cash in the DropBox.
- Checks: We do not accept third-party checks. Please include the account number on the check.
- Money orders (include the account number on the money order)
- MasterCard, and Visa: In-person; Cardholder must be present
Ways to Pay Your Bill
Online
Visit our E-Billing Service and enter all required information exactly as it appears on your bill (including dashes in the account number). Payment can be made by MasterCard or Visa. Please allow 2 to 3 business days for posting to your account.
Auto Direct Payment
This is a free direct pay service that automatically deducts the utility bill amount from a checking or savings account on the invoice due date. To set up your direct payment service you must fill out a Direct Payment Form (PDF) and mail the completed form to the Utility Office, or deliver it in person. Direct-pay customers receive a monthly bill marked "Direct Payment - Do Not Pay” to track deductions from their checking or savings account.
Phone System
Pay your utility bill via our automated IVR phone system. You can pay your water bill via this system 24/7. The system will give you your balance, which is current as of the prior business day. MasterCard, Visa, and Discover are accepted and payments made using your checking account will be available soon.
If you wish to use this new automated system, please call the office at 1-937-754-3007 and choose the option for paying your bill by phone, and then follow the prompts. You will need your account number, which is located on the top right-hand corner of your bill. There are no fees associated with this service at this time.
Note that payments can no longer be made by calling the office. Staff will be available to answer other questions or assist you with the information needed to make a phone payment.
In-Person
Citizens may pay a bill in person by visiting the Utility Billing Office located at:

The office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Accepted forms of payment are cash, check, money order, MasterCard, and Visa.
DropBox
Using the convenient drop box located in front of the Fairborn Government Center, you can make your payment day or night. The Utility staff collects the dropbox contents daily at 8 a.m. Payments put in the dropbox after 8 a.m. will be posted the next business day. If payment is necessary to avoid water termination or additional fees, please make payments in person at the Utility Billing Office. Please do not put cash payments in the dropbox.
