Fire Station Number 2
Located just off of Dayton-Yellow Springs Road near I-675, the station's primary response district is the southeast portion of the City. Currently housed at Fire Station Number 2 are Medic 2, Quint 2, and Reserve Medic 6. The station is staffed by two personnel as budget permits. The primary response vehicle in the station is Medic 2. The crew will also use Tanker 2 if needed for fires in non-hydrant areas within the Township and City.
Equipped with the only fire-training tower in the City, the tower is useful for crews to practice high-rise evolution, rope rescue training and aerial apparatus operations. Crews can pump almost 1,000 gallons of water into the tower to simulate supplying a sprinkler system in a commercial type building.
The station has a formal training room that is also utilized by the public as a community room. The building is also equipped with a police sub-station.
