Summer Camps

Summer Camps 2021

Atherton Amphitheater: Community Park
Ages 7-13

Come PLAY this summer at Fairborn Parks & Recreation’s “Summer in Motion” half-day camps! Your camper up and moving around Community Park 3 days per week. All camps will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every week. Camps are limited!  Reserve your spot today.

Summer Camp check in/out will be by the Atherton Amphitheater in Community Park.

Fairborn Parks & Recreation continues to provide social distanced and safe PLAY for its campers. Temperature will be taken at check-in every camp day. Campers may not attend if they are not feeling well or have been exposed to COVID-19. Facial coverings must be worn into and exiting camps. Facial coverings may be required during certain camp activities.

Campers packing list: water bottle, snack, towel, facial covering, sunscreen and hand sanitizer. Camp counselor will have hand sanitizer, thermometer, and disposable facial coverings.

Refund Policy: Cancellation of camps by Fairborn Parks & Recreation= refund. Camp cancellation by registrant= no refund.

Week 1

June 8-10

Danger in the Wild

Plan to get wet and muddy as kids take on NATURE.  Learn to identify poisonous plants, dangerous insects, and birds of prey. Adventure awaits, can you survive?

Week 2

June 15-17

Spell Bound!

Campers will compete in a variety of games, attend potion class, and become the best wizards they can to earn points. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in costume!

Week 3

June 22-24

9am-12pm

Camp Camp

Learn everything you need to know to go camping. Set-up and tear down a tent. Build a campfire. Go fishing at Community Park pond. Use a compass to go on an exploratory hike: identify plants & animals. Create a camp story. S’mores of course.

Week 4

June 29-July 1

9am-12pm

Excess Recess

Spend the morning playing classic RECESS games like hide and seek, tag and classic field day games to see whose team will win! And enjoy some free time at the playground.

July 6-8

12pm-3pm

Water Wipeout

It’s not summer camp without getting wet and having some water fun! Campers will design and build their own boats, create art with spray bottles, and find fun ways to stay cool in the hot July sunshine! Please come dressed in bathing suit. Bring a towel and a change of clothes.

July 13-15

9am-12pm

Treasure Hunters

This week is all about finding treasures! Learn to use GPS to find geocaches hidden throughout the park. Solve the clues to find items on scavenger hunts. Help create some treasures to hide in our parks for others to find and much more!

Week 7

July 20-22

9am-12pm

Arts & Engineering

Draw, create, and build.  Tuesday focuses on all things art: drawing, painting, sculpting. Day two is all about engineering by designing as we create some art installations around Community Park. Day three is all about a Lip Sync Battle- perform and/or creating pieces to set the stage.

Clash of the Campers

Grab your friends and prepare for Battle! Each day hosts new challenges that will have your camper battling it out with their besties: light saber showdowns, nerf wars, food fights and more.

August 3-5

Social Sports

Compete against fellow campers in a friendly week of competitive sports. Whether it is basketball, kickball, dodgeball, baseball or bocce ball or the latest trending sport, let’s PLAY today!
