School Resource Officer

The Fairborn Police Department currently has three School Resource Officers assigned full-time to Fairborn City Schools.

Officer Tyler McCarty is assigned to Fairborn High School where he teaches an introduction to law enforcement course to students and handles everyday incidents as they arise. Officer McCarty also represents Fairborn in the Greene County Law Enforcement Explorer Program, where he recruits and teaches explorers law enforcement training for future careers. He is a certified RADS instructor

Officer Wes Frederick is assigned to Baker Middle School full-time where he teaches many crime prevention classes to middle school students (social media, dangers of drugs, damage of bullying). Officer Frederick is heavily involved in coaching Fairborn Skyhawk Basketball

Officer Zachary Zink is assigned to Fairborn Intermediate School and Fairborn Primary School. He teaches D.A.R.E., Seatbelt Safety, assists with Safety City (a traffic safety education program for Kindergarten students), handles everyday incidents as they arise, and is also a certified R.A.D.S. Instructor. 

All the school resource officers instruct the students on drug use prevention and have an open door for students of the district.
