Community Needs Survey

Consolidated Plan Community Needs Survey 2020-2024

What is the purpose of this survey?

The City of Fairborn would like your input on the City’s most important housing and community development needs and priorities in order to inform the use of the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME investment Partnership Program funds in the future.

In existence since 1974, the CDBG program is one of the longest running programs administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  CDBG funds have assisted thousands of cities, town and counties throughout the country to address critical community needs, such as quality affordable housing, public facilities, infrastructure, job creation and public services that primarily serve low-and-moderate income residents and families.  Since the beginning, Fairborn has utilized CDBG funds to support many projects and programs the help make the city a high-quality and inclusive place to live.

Every five years the city must complete a 5 year plan that acts as a roadmap for how the city will prioritize the use of CDBG and HOME funds over the next five years.  The goal of this survey is to help the city identify housing and community development needs and to develop strategies to address them in the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan.
